ON THE FIELD

We will be dancing on the field on Saturday and Sunday (May 15 and 16).  We will be demonstrating the dancing and there will be opportunities to learn for those new to dancing.  Please come by and join us!  This is our schedule (all times Eastern Daylight Savings Time Zone):

10:00 am – 11:30 am

Morning Session

11:30 am – 1:30 pm

Break for Lunch (Opening Ceremonies on Saturday)

1:30 pm – 3:00 pm

Afternoon Session

3:00pm – 4:00 pm

Music Session**

**If time permits we will try to have a music session after dancing completes on Saturday.  This would be an opportunity to learn about music for dancing, what types of music we play, and how the music may be arranged and played.  If you play an instrument, you are welcome to bring it and join in to learn about the music.

 GALA – SATURDAY, MAY 15, 8PM

Gatlinburg Community Center

For the first time in many years, we will be having a ball or gala as part of the Gatlinburg Games.  Below are the dances for the evening.  We are very fortunate to have two very talented musicians to join us and play for the dances.  This should be fun for both experienced dances and our new dancers. This is also a great opportunity to watch and learn about the dancing.  We will be having a couple of warm-up dances during the evening which are very easy and anyone can join in during this time.

**We’ll try not to, but the program is subject to change.  We’ll keep the site up to date and post any changes the evening of the dance.

Dress:  For dancing, soft-soled shoes must be worn in the gym, so please change shoes just outside the gym.  There will be chairs available.  No food or drink is allowed in the gym.  No alcohol is allowed on the premises.

Admission:     $15 for Dancers and $3 for Spectators

This dance is dedicated to Bernard and Audrey Kaiman.  The Kaimans will not be able to join us, but we wanted to recognize the many years they promoted Scottish Country Dancing in our area.  If you know the Kaimans, please bring photographs, messages, or other memorabilia.  We’ll have a card for attendees to sign during the evening.  We will deliver these to the Kaimans shortly after the dance.
